Ms. Phinikki Lawrence

(PriNcipal)

Phinikki Lawrence is a transformational leader with a proven record of leading school turnaround efforts, strengthening instructional excellence, and improving student achievement. Devoted to the success of every student, Ms. Lawrence is enthusiastic about leading Amon Carter-Riverside High School with a vision rooted in excellence, opportunity, and strong relationships. She leads with visibility, integrity, and a relentless commitment to continuous improvement, believing that exceptional schools are built by investing in people, empowering leaders, and never compromising on high expectations for students. At Carter–Riverside, Ms. Lawrence is committed to honoring the school's proud Eagle tradition while partnering with students, families, staff, and the community to ensure every student is challenged to excel, supported to succeed, and prepared for success beyond graduation. Guided by the belief that excellence is a daily commitment, her leadership is grounded in one simple philosophy: "Expect Excellence: Every Class. Every Student. Every Day. No Excuses!"

Mrs. Irma Natoli

(Assistant Principal)

A graduate of FWISD, Mrs. Natoli is entering her 33rd year of service with our district.   She completed her Bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas and her Master's degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. 2026-2027 will be Mrs. Natoli's 16^th year at Carter-Riverside high school.  She looks forward to working with the entire Carter community to ensure our students receive every opportunity to be engaged in learning in every class, every day.  

Ms. Rosa Garcia

(Assistant Principal)

As a proud graduate of FWISD, she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame, a Master of Education in Mind, Brain, and Education from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. Her experience as an educator spans 20+ years in ESL and bilingual classrooms, including athletic coaching, serving as a math instructor for elementary and middle school students, and teaching elementary bilingual students for 8 years. She has also served as a dean of instruction and an instructional coach. As a second-year assistant principal, she is excited to serve the Carter-Riverside High School community by supporting students in their pursuit of excellence. Her journey as an educator is made possible by the dreams realized by immigrant parents, their strength and resilience that she carries forward, and the love of learning she now sees in her young daughter, Soledad.  

Ms. Shamonica Shead

(Assistant Principal)

Ms. Shamonica Shead is an Assistant Principal with 12 years of experience in education. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Tyler and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at Arlington. Her professional background includes teaching mathematics and reading, coaching athletics, and serving in leadership roles as a Data Analyst/Campus Data Leader and Dean of Instruction.
As an educational leader, Ms. Shead believes every student deserves access to high-quality instruction and a supportive environment that fosters success. She is committed to ensuring a culture of high expectations and collaborating with teachers and families to support continuous achievement and growth. Through purposeful coaching and effective systems, she works to develop both students and staff while ensuring equitable opportunities that prepare all learners for college, career, and life.
